Carophyll red

Carophyll red is a powder of red-pink color, which contains at least 10% of cantaxantin, while etoxiquin and ascorbic acid are added as anti oxidants.

Usage: It is used as a supplement in live stock nutrition. It is used in quantities, which are in accordance with national regulations.

Storage Conditions: Carophyll red is very sensitive in contact with air, heat, light and moisture. It is to be kept at temperature bellow 15 C. After opening of an original pack, the content should be spent in a very short period of time. Carophyll red is safe for the use. However, inhalation and a direct contact with a product should be avoided, by using adequate protective measures and measures of personal hygiene. In some cases it may cause over sensitivity on etoxiquin, which leads to certain dermatological changes.

Product description: Carophyl yellow is a powder of yellowish color, which contains at least 10% of cantaxantin, while etoxiquin and ascorbic acid are added as anti oxidants.

Usage: It is used as a supplement in live stock nutrition. By the use of Carophyll yellow pigmentation of eggshell, yolk and meat is achieved. It is used in quantities prescribed by national regulations.

Carotenoids belong to the category of tetraterpenoids (i.e. they contain 40 carbon atoms). Structurally they are in the form of a polyene chain which is sometimes terminated by rings.

Carotenoids with molecules containing oxygen, such as lutein and zeaxanthin, are known as xanthophylls.

The unoxygenated (oxygen free) carotenoids such as alpha-carotene, beta-carotene and lycopene are known as carotenes. Carotenes typically contain only carbon and hydrogen.

Probably the most well-known carotenoid is the one that gives this second group its name, carotene, found in carrots (also apricots) and are responsible for their bright orange colour. Crude palm oil, however, is the richest source of carotenoids in nature in terms of retinol (provitamin A) equivalent[6]. Vietnam Gac fruit contains the highest known concentration of the carotenoid lycopene.

Their colour, ranging from pale yellow through bright orange to deep red, is directly linked to their structure.
